Fortune 50 Company: Process Digitization

Energy Corp. is a $2.5 billion revenue subsidiary of a Fortune 50 company. It manufactures and services 10-50 MW power plants for various industries and utilities.
Challenge - Automating Inquiry-To-Order

Energy Corp had implemented a variety of ERP applications including Oracle Financials, Oracle Manufacturing, Siebel (for Sales Force Automation) and eMatrix (for Product Lifecycle Management). However, the business process from the creation of a potential sales opportunity in Seibel to the point where a Manufacturing Work Order was entered into the ERP system was still largely human driven and implemented via email, phone calls etc.
Solution - eITO - Java J2EE based application

Energy Corp. asked Techlogix to develop eITO: a common portal for a variety of business users from sales, to budgeting and costing, to engineering to risk management. eITO tracked every step of the business process and using a system of notifications and alerts, cut down the process cycle time by 30%.

Benefits - Process Improvement and Repeatability

Some of the processes improved by eITO included budgeting and costing, risk analysis and review, product configuration for customer requirements and performance guarantees generated for customers. By capturing these cross-functional tasks into a single digitized process, Energy Corp. was able to significantly decrease the process variability in both cost and time and hence provide better service to its customers.

Technology

eITO was developed on a Java J2EE platform using Oracle as the database engine.
