Forum Systems - Technology Development

Forum XWall for ISA Server with XIP (XML Intrusion Prevention) enables SOAP and raw XML traffic to be inspected for risks to the enterprise and helps guard small and medium businesses to large enterprises alike against Web services related threats. Forum XWall helps protect against SOAP and XML-related threats by combining granular access control, deep filtering, and real time intrusion detection and prevention for SOAP and XML traffic that passes through the ISA Server.

Techlogix developed the ISA Server 2004 plug-in modules which register the filter and pass incoming requests to XWall. A complete Administration function for XWall was tightly integrated into the ISA Server 2004 user interface. The plug-in and XWall were load tested to 200,000 incoming requests per hour.

Solution - C++/C# based filter

Techlogix used a combination of C++ and C# to build the solution. The active filter which plugs into ISA Server itself was built in C++ for maximum performance. The Administration module (show above) was built in C# to achieve the same look and feel as the Microsoft product itself. The work done by Techlogix was showcased in Microsoft MSDN magazine.
